This year, along with the usual choccies and ‘vouchers’ for Christmas activities in the boy’s advent calendar, I wanted to include some kindness and gratitude activities to teach and remind the boys about giving and being selfless.
It is so easy to get caught up in the holiday season as its such a busy time of year…but I think its so important to take things back to basics and appreciate everything that we have. The kids lead a pretty sheltered life in terms of fully understanding how fortunate they are.
When I grew up I would drive past squatter camps on the way to school and see thousands of homeless people so I was exposed to that sort of reality. Not being exposed to those sort of things in this beautiful country means that my kids don’t actually understand how amazing they have it so I want to make sure that they know how privileged they are and simply be grateful for everything in their little lives.
I am hoping that by having these popped in the kiddies advent calendar, or having Alfie our Elf on the Shelf deliver some whilst visiting us that its not all about the chocolates every morning and instead they get excited about doing things for others.

I figured I would pop this up on the blog for you guys to download and print off so you can use it too.
Lets make this Christmas all about being grateful!
Merry Christmas
