The weather Is warming up and it is time to start unleashing the pegs in all their glory. After being hidden away over the winter months mine certainly need a little TLC… or maybe a weed whacker before embracing the summer shorts and skirts.
Here are my handy tips to tame those winter wooleys and get those legs ready to embrace the warmer weather!
EXFOLIATE
Scrubbing away all those dead skin cells and exfoliating your legs prepare them for a nice close shave and helps prevent razor burn from the skin cells clogging up your razor.
TIMING
Enjoy 10-15 minutes soaking in the tub or steaming up in the shower before shaving your legs. The steam/hot water helps soften the hairs and open up the hair follicles.
LATHER UP
Don’t use soap – soap doesn’t lube up those legs enough for a really good smooth shave. Using a shaving cream, an oil or my personal go to, conditioner and lathering up your legs will allow for a super smooth shave and help avoid any nicks and cuts in the process. The new Schick Intuition f.a.b has an an awesome water activated gel which helps the razor move smoothly along your skin, providing an effortless glide.
DOWN BEFORE UP
It is recommended to shave in the direction that your hair grows on your first pass (shaving down the leg) before shaving back up the leg to get the closest shave. The new Schick Intuition f.a.b is the perfect solution to do this quickly and easily. It is the only razor of its kind that shaves both forwards and backwards, allowing for a continuous motion, rather than lifting the razor from the skin.
MOISTURISE
Now that the overgrowth has been contained its time to nourish those pegs with a moisturiser. This will not only leave them silky soft and smooth but also help prevent ingrown hairs.
TAN
Last, but certainly not least, Tan those bad boys up! My all time fave is the Bondi Sands ultra dark foaming mousse to get those legs looking summer ready without exposing them to potential sun damage to get that bronzed look.
I attended a PR launch for this awesome new Schick Intuition f.a.b (forward and backwards) razor a few months ago and was so excited to give it a go. I was amazed to hear that this razor has been 15 years in the making to be able to have a razor that could shave both forwards and backwards in one motion. How cool is that!? Give it a go yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
Hope you have silky soft legs after reading this
