In the lead up to the end of the year I had numerous messages flying through online asking me if I was going to be making another monthly planner like last year as so many of you loved it. In Case didn’t know at the start of 2017 I searched high and low and I couldn’t find a monthly planner ANYWHERE. I wanted one large enough to write things on for each day, and I wanted it to start on a MONDAY… In my mind, my week starts on a Monday, so that’s where I need to visually see it, rather than to start with the end!
So what do you do if you can’t find what you want? SIMPLE. You do it yourself!
So this is what I created last year. I created it in black and white (as it was cheaper to print) and had it printed at the local printing shop as I didn’t have a printer of my own. I then mounted it to my fridge and the whole family would use it to know what was on and when! In hindsight, I am glad I made it go right up to Jan 2018; I have been writing notes on January since November last year, while trying to get this new one sorted!
For 2018, I wanted some colour. I am all about the leafy greenery at the moment. It’s my go to look around the house and it’s my inspiration for the new nursery which I need to get working on too! I designed this back in October/November last year as I knew I wouldn’t have time if I left it any later and I am only just getting round to it now. But boy do I need it. Back-to-school is coming up and between both kids and their activities along our schedules I need it all written down in front of me so I know exactly where and when I need to be.It is true that I have a diary, but I don’t like using it. I prefer to be able to see the whole week, the whole month at a glance so that I can plan everything knowing what I have coming up and how many weeks left of the month etc.
What I didn’t think about when designing it was the cost of getting it printed in colour.
And thats when I had my epiphany!
I was lucky enough to be sent one of the Epson EcoTank Printers, and when first contacted by them I was so excited as our printer had just died a sudden random death and even when it was alive it was ALWAYS out of at least one ink cartridge and those things are damn expensive to buy and never bloody last so was mainly just a display item in my office!
Anyway, so back to my epiphany…
Why not just print it myself? These EcoTank Printers come with enough ink to print 6500 pages in colour and 4000 in black so I don’t need to stress about using up all my ink on a 13 day monthly planner like I usually would have.
So that’s what I did!
I went out and bought some nice thicker paper to use, I set up my new printer, loaded the ink tanks up, connected it to my laptop and hey presto I was in business.
So as promised here is the link so that you can download it for free and print it off yourself…no excuses to be unorganised this year!
