I feel like I start every one of my blogs like this… I am playing catch up (again!) this time from back in January where I was honoured to host and organise a hens party for a good friend, Mandy. As you are probably aware I jump at the opportunity to organise a good shin dig and never do things by halves. Its just not in my nature, unless its the washing or dishes then I am more than happy to give it a half ass attempt.
Over the years I have only had the chance to organise and style boy parties. Although fun, its just not the same as getting the chance to do a girly one and making everything all pretty!!
I absolutely loved styling this event and I was in LOVE with how it all turned out considering I was winging it and throwing together aspects from a few different themes… and I am pretty sure the Hen loved it too!
We had been working day and night for the past 6 weeks to get the new deck done and to a point where we could actually host a party on it. At one point I thought we were going to have to change the theme to a mud wrestling pit as that is exactly what our outdoor area resembled. But we got there in the end, not completely finished, but finished enough and we worked with what we had!
It was an absolute scorcher of a day and myself and the bridesmaids had been working our asses off all week prepping everything and getting it all set up. The heat was slightly unexpected, it really was one of the hottest days of summer which meant our choccies were melting away and the cold meats needed to be eaten up FAST as we were worrying about giving our guests food poisoning!
But regardless of the heat it all seemed to go off without a hitch! We didn’t have a theme as such but decided to have everyone wear white to let the bride to be stand out on her big day, so we took inspiration from that and then threw together a mix of florals, loads of greenery, gold and a hint of naughtiness and somehow managed to tie it altogether.
I want to quickly say a BIG BIG BIG thank you to Jules from Pop Roc Parties and Kylie from Love from Seventeen for making my visions become a reality, you guys are really amazing at helping me with each and every party I pull together!!
So enough ramblings….Here it is!
I hope that you enjoyed browsing those piccys and hopefully you have drawn some inspiration from it all for your next event! Don’t forget Jules is your lady! And NO, she doesn’t pay me to tell you that…I just could not recommend her, her service, her products and her advice enough!
Okay now I need another friend or my sister (hint hint) to get hitched so I can do this all again 😉
