Our bathroom went from a small, unventilated, dark, damp, dingy, rotting, smelly little room into the most exquisite, bright, fresh, modern space in a matter of weeks. If you haven’t seen what the bathroom and toilet looked like when we bought check it out here!
So there was a separate toilet and bathroom. The bathroom was small and cramped and the toilet was long and spacious. It just didnt make sense. There was all that space in the toilet room not being utilized. We decided to knock out the wall between the two and put the toilet inside the bathroom. By doing this we have created a space that feels large and spacious (although it is still a reasonably small bathroom!)
It took a lot of planning to get everything to fit into the space we had! We left the toilet and bath where they were originally, and we put the new shower into the space which was the door and entrance to the toilet. There was a cupboard in the hallway next to the toilet which we got rid of which increased the size of the bathroom by a little it more and we utilized that space for the vanity with a recessed cupboard mirror. The old tiny little shower corner got turned into a linen/towel closet which gave us lots of extra storage!
There is not much else to say about it….I will let the pictures do the talking.
Our cat Harley wanted to be in on the action too! Hidden behind the entrance door to the bathroom is another door. This area used to be the old shower and now functions as a linen closet and extra storage.

Renovating your bathroom was a wonderful course of action to take upon when you started feeling unsatisfied with it. After all, nobody wants to set their sights on a dark, damp and dingy one. Anyway, your new bathroom looks wonderful, Tarryn! It's a huge improvement from the previous one. I can see that even your cat loves going in it. Hahaha! Thanks for sharing that! Kudos and all the best to you!
