We chose to have our reception on the North deck of Mana Island with lots of lights and lanterns and a large dance floor. The theme of white and gold was carried through with special little touches. I thought long and hard for months and months about the favours we would give our guests. We wanted to give them something special that they would keep and use. We decided on luggage tags which we put a little thank you note inside wishing them safe travels. I put these in little boxes with a white starfish and name tag on top which doubled as their name cards. Kylan had his very own special box filled with fun little activities to keep him happy all night long.
We chose to have our table set up in the shape of a U with the bridal table at the top with two long tables coming off the sides. This allowed for the bridal party to be up close and personal with our guests and we didn’t have to divide our friends and family up amongst different tables. We had family on one side and our friends on the other side.

We really wanted to create an entrance that would set the mood for the rest of the night from the moment we entered. We had our MC line up our guests in two rows to create an isle for us to walk down. We chose an upbeat dance song for our entrance and as the MC introduced each couple they danced their way down the isle followed by Kylan, myself and Ryan whilst our guests clapped and danced along side us.
We walked straight onto the dance floor for our first dance. It was magical!! There was a full moon that night and we danced by moonlight together and then had our guests all join in. So we got the dance floor going from the very beginning of the night which was fantastic. Kylan then wanted to have his first dance to his favourite song at the time so he stole the limelight and performed for us and our guests. It was very sweet. I joined him and we had our very own special mummy son dance.
We had speeches and a buffet dinner followed by a few more speeches and then danced the night away! We finished off the reception with sparklers on the beach. It was the perfect end to the perfect night!
The best part about having a destination wedding was that it was not just half a day of celebrations….it was a week long of celebrating, love, friendship, family and lots and lots of laughter. Our wedding day and night was perfect. But there was one day that even more magical…check it out here!
