So we had knocked out walls and ripped out the old kitchen and started stripping the hideous wallpaper leaving us with our blank canvas ready to start creating our dream home!
Knowing our long term plan of creating a deck outside the kitchen we decided to replace the current kitchen window with some bifold windows which would open up onto the deck where we would eventually have a little bar and seats for entertaining. Our whole vision was to create indoor outdoor flow and a home which was made for entertaining.

The new window opens right up allowing a lot of air into the kitchen and makes the space seem so much bigger than it really is.
The other biggest issue with the house as it was was that the only way to get out the back of the house was through the laundry. This just wasn’t practical at all. And being a north facing house it got very hot and we needed to create more airflow through the house during the summer months so the obvious answer was to replace the dining room window with a door!

The door creates a larger feel to the room and lets in so much more light |
Those were supposed to be the biggest jobs of the reno….But like with any renovation project things don’t always go to plan!
