We found a house! It was love at first sight!
I had high expectations of what I wanted our first home to be. I had a list of things I wanted and didn’t want and the chances of me getting everything on my list as highly unlikely!
single driveway, stand alone house, north facing, big backyard, old and dated but with good bones…..as I said I had pretty high expectations!
And what do you know, on the first day of serious house hunting after seeing so many terrible units with long steep shared driveways we came across this little beauty and I knew it was the one. Ry needed a little bit more persuasion as he couldn’t visualize what it could be.

We actually lost the house to someone with a higher offer and we were soooooo disappointed, but a few weeks later we got a call saying that there offer fell through and it was ours if we still wanted it!
It was simply meant to be!
This is our biggest project yet! We bought it knowing that a lot of work needed to be put in to get it to where we wanted it to be. I will be posting all the before and afters of all the work that we have done so far including all the little DIY projects I did along the way 🙂
Here is our first home as we bought it:
The lounge |
the side garden |
The Kitchen |
The dining room |
The lounge looking down towards the hall with the dining and kitchen to the left |
Lounge looking into the dining room and kitchen |
The back door which leads into the laundry |
The back patio area |
looking up towards the patio from the side garden |
Our side/back garden |
The bathroom |
Toilet |
another one of the lounge |
As you can see it is all pretty outdated! lots of beige, buttercup, brown and horrible wallpaper EVERYWHERE! In saying that I could see potential everywhere I looked and I knew we had landed ourselves the perfect little do-er upper!
